Volvo 240 vs. Honda Civic LX

Yeah, who would win this race of the underdogs. Both stock, the 240 with the 2.3L and the Civic with a 1.8L. I would think the Volvo but there is the weight factor. However, the Civic would fold up if it hit anything at all. I would pick the Swedish Meatball over the Rice any day.

What do you people think!

Oh no.. I know of one slower.
Being a VW nut as well as Volvo kind of a guy, I have friends with VW buses. I even have one myself...
There was a special commercial version of the early (split-windshield) bus called a Highroof. It's about 2 feet taller than a normal bus, so you can actually stand inside it and walk around. They were a factory thing but very rare in this country. Some folks I know have one... powered by an original-type 1200 (40-horse) engine. And at a VW swap meet a few years ago, another one turned up. There can't be more than a handful of these oddball trucks running and registered in the whole country.
So the two owners agreed to stage the only known drag race of two Highroof VW buses. Imagine 40hp, pushing 3500lbs, huge frontal area, top speed of about 55mph. THAT is slow!
      PS My friend's bus won!
