Timing Belt - Update/Mechanic request in S. Seattle 200 1979

Thank you all so much. I can't tell you how much I appreciate getting good solid advice. It turns out my mechanic thought I had a different engine (B23F)and had a report which indicated the possibility of damage with broken Timing Belt. We are straight now and the belt is being replaced along with seals if necessary. This is my 19 year old daughters car and she loves it. I hope it will go another 100,000 mile for her, but first it seems we also need a new fuel pump, but I'm going to find another mechanic if I can, who knows Volvos better.

Anybody know a good Volvo mechanic in the South Seattle area and/or Bellingham, since that's where my daughter goes to school.

Thanks a million once again for all your help and knowledge. I'm so glad I found this forum.

Kim

Swedish Automotive in West Seattle is very good. Harmony Motors in Bellingham.
    Good luck.

Try a search for "Seattle mechanics". I know I've seen them mentioned before...

These cars can run forever if they are taken care.

    Good luck with it,

    Jim 90 244DL with almost 240K!
