Brought home an 1800S yesterday, 1800 1965

I've been on the 240 side for years but growing up a guy 3 doors down had a cream '65 1800s that I used to watch him work on and speed around in. I'd tried to buy it off of him several times over the last few years and finally moved about 25 miles away. Last week someone posted on the SCVCOA group about his father passing away and "would anyone be interested in his old Volvo" long story short he had the same last name as Joe and within hours I had agreed to buy the 1800, price to be determined by the brother who it was willed to. He remembered me and said if I promised to restore it I could HAVE it along with a parts car and boxes of parts, including a set of sidedraft webers, various cams and all parts that were not on the car.

it has little rust as it is a So Cal car but Joe had some fender benders and the passenger's side rear quarter is more bondo than metal. Also the gas lid hinge has rusted off along with some minor rust behind both front wheels and one rear wheel. I've got a semi good rear clip on the parts car but I'd rather use new panels for the side and from the trunk back on the tail. I've found some great pages already but would welcome any advise. I'm joining VSA and its local chapter also.
Cheers
