I just had my 245 DL serviced by a local shop and changed to r-134. I had two pounds of r-12 and they switch out the oil and ran the dye and it works great for $225. I thought it would be $500 or more. My mechanic said they no longer have to change out all the rubber seals. Works great. Hope you find a good place.

Nothing funky going on there, I would simply have it serviced at a reputable Volvo independent repair shop and make sure that they put some UV tracer dye in it to facilitate locating any subsequent leaks that may crop up.
