1-1-5 code (fuel injector?) 900 1995

While taking a leasurely summer drive last night my "check engine" light came on in my 1995 960.
I pressed the gas and it sounded like I was running on 3 cylinders. There wasn't any warning or ill behavior up to this point.
Checked out the message board and it looks like this code has to do with half of my fuel injectors. (the other three would have had code 1-1-3).
I've checked the voltage this morning to all the injectors and have 12 volts on one of the wires when the key is in the "on" on position. Cleaned all the contacts on the injectors and relays with de-ox.
Cleared the code and started the car. Everything seems okay....now I'm really worried. Is this going to happen again? Like when I'm out of town?

If it is an intermitten ground fault, which I think is the case after doing a search on this site, is there a way to fix it while I'm on the road? In other words, if I start jiggling wires will the other three cyclinder come back?

There is only one "fuel relay" and only one "ingnition relay" on this '95 960. Does that mean that the problem isn't with the relay since it controls all of the injectors, not just 3 of them?

From previous posts it looks like some have had this problem before. They mention a re-solder job on the wiring harness under the intake manifold. However, no one ever said that it worked. What is there to re-solder under the intake manifold, anyway?

    Bomhauer,

Check out this similar thread. Jerry Warren may have found the bad connector for the fuel injectors causing codes 113 & 115.

I replaced the fuel relay (as it was suggested to me, as well as the RPM sensor) and it had no effect on my Code 113 & 115 problems. The only good thing about these codes is that the engine will restart fine. But that's the only good thing. On our 95 960, it only seems to happen when it is hot and the engine is taken from low load to high load (as in stepping on the gas). It has happened on the highway, from a dead stop and everything in between.

It definitely appears to be a temporary fault ( break) in the ground connections for the injectors. The ECM fires the injectors thru the ground so you just cant ground the injectors normallry. Someone on the list apparrently completed the repair and said it did not solve the problem.

All I can say is that cleaning all the connectors appears to help.

      thanks for the reply...
well it is definitly hot here. first time in the 90's this week.
maybe you are on to something.
      i'll think about it.
don't really feel like taking the intake manifold off and digging down to see where the injector wires go.

cleaned everything up today with de-ox, including the "big plug" at the fuse/relay box. everything seemed pretty clean anyway.
i don't see any solder joints anywhere that i can re-solder.
do you know of any that are related to the injectors?

"do you know of any that are related to the injectors?"

Unfortunately I really don't, I just cleaned everything I could take apart and clean.

If you figure anything out more definitive, let us know. This is really the only fault with this car that makes me hesitate to take it off the beaten path. One day it happened to me 5 times in about 10 minutes, then not again for weeks. So far it's been about a year without having it happen since cleaning every connector in sight.

        Good Luck.

Just happened to me, mine just died with both injector groups failing.I searched every post all the way back from Tom irvin, no one figured the exact problem. The big plug on the wheel well was suspect after cleaning everything else thanks to DanR
