    ROFL!! 200 1984

Art, I'm sending you the bill for having my keyboard cleaned after spewing a perfectly good Irish Coffee all over it ;-)

    It's cheaper from Amazon.com ... 200 1984

I get a few to throw in the plastic recylables with every order.

FWIW, I've got the same temperature/volt meter (from Target last Christmas) sitting on the coin tray in my '86 too, though I've yet to bother hooking up the external sensor to the car's outside. On my '91, which I have it taped on the little ledge of the radio mounting faceplate, the sensor is wedged in one of the HVAC vents.

      Target thermometer/voltmeter 200 1984

Yes, Christmas time at the front of the store as you walk in. I bought two at $8, gave one to my daughter as an appeasement to her desire for an ambient temperature gauge. Then I wired this one in my car. The low voltage alarm alerted me to a discharge condition caused by silently slipping glazed belts last January.

Never seen them for sale since, and the literature that comes with it gives no clue, except China. Wanted to get my daughter's to send Volvodad the UPC # (it is a cut above similar products) but that unit disappeared into her collection of stuff somewhere.

The dollar-store ammeter was just a temporary thing while someone indulging in some foolish experiments was trying to decide his slipping belts were stator turns shorting under load...

        Target thermometer/voltmeter 200 1984

I might have the original box somewhere, but it was a Christmas item only, so you'll prolly have to wait until November for it to show back up again, if it shows back up again.

If it's anything, stockpile on the Zymol and Meguiar car wax kits after Christmas. Nice price last year at 1/2 off - $17.50 and $15 respectively, for about $50 and $45 worth of very good car care products.

The strange part of that UPC quest was my plain recollection I'd seen the same unit in a catalog, like JCW or something for about three times the price. Could not re-find it. But the Target ones did come in bright red Target boxes in a pile with other stocking stuffer gizmos.

I did mention cleaning those Coronas each time I wash the car - 'round about once a year. Zymol and Mequiar, hmmm... Actually I have a couple cars that do get reasonable exterior appearance care, but neither has Coronas.

Nice, Art. Looks like the rare coin tray and an op gauge. What are the other gauges besides the turbo and clock? Not a turbo, but a B23, right?

Clock, Volts, OP and Boost ga used as a Vac/MPG gauge at 1/2 scale.

As I recall from past mentions...

        Junkyard gauges 200 1984

That "MPG" boost gauge is hidden by the wheel. So far it has only served to warn me when the cruise vacuum hose split.

The boost gauge visible is reading coolant pressure. Saved my head 800 miles from home, I believe. This is from a previous post about that incident.

Tapped into the highest part of the cooling system.

Ran the hose to a scavenged boost gauge. Pressure rises a bit after shutting the motor off.

Art, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I really don't think that is going to work very well. Try a feather pillow instead. Those bubble wrap things so are unreliable.

    best of luck.

    Very creative!

My wife saw your picture and accused ME of posting the pic until she got a closer look. (The Interior colors matches my son’s 944.) Order enough junk to save up enough to fill the interior and it may work.

I only got kraft paper in my last delivery, usually recycled for oil change spills.
