Power Seat Switch Problems 900 1991

The switch's internal contacts burn due to the high current loadings. Either follow FAQ instructions (in the window area) to disassemble and overhaul the switch or buy a new switch.

Dear JBCIV,

May this find you well. Should you need to remove the seat to get at the switch, be sure to disconnect the negative battery terminal clamp and put it in a plastic bag. I believe the airbag sensor is under the driver's seat. If the sensor is thumped or banged, it could trigger an airbag deployment. That is costly (about $1K) and quite dangerous at close quarters.

Best of luck with the switch cleaning/change.

Yours faithfully

Had the same problem where it was just the back tilt. I picked up a used switch panel and installed it. The panel is not easily fixed.

Good luck,

dick
