Wrecked 780 *sniffle* 700

So I was driving along southbound on West Temple crossing the intersection of South Temple (for those familiar with Salt Lake) and BAM, right into the side of some idget stick in a Grand Prix that thought he could make a U-Turn in front of me. I wasn't able to stop and thanks to the city there is cement barriers everywhere so I had nowhere to go. It bent the back passengers rear tire of there car and smashed up that rear panel pretty good. The hood on my car was FUBAR'd, driver's side lights gone, front clip thing (the one that sites in front of the radiator) was bent, grill FUBAR'd metal ring that goes under the lights, transmission let fluid go everywhere (from under the car) and now the shift lever sits back 1-2 inches. The car is currently at Kenn Garff Volvo getting an estimate. People’s carelessness sure is aggravating. I'm sure they will declare it a total given the nature of body parts for that car.

*takes off his hat for his beloved 780* may she rest in peace.

Sadly I read of your loss of a rare and beautiful vehicle. If you were in LA, I would send you to check a salvage rebuild shop that would make it whole again for a cheap price vs the dealership rates. Some of the guys in Wilmington are artists. If you want a source for body parts (I know of 3 cars)or are going to salvage it just e-mail me.

That is sad, the 780 is a beautiful car. You'll be getting requests for parts soon. We're just waiting for the greiving period to end.

Man, what an idiot! Poor 780. Hopefully you'll be able to find another! At least she had a few miles on her.....

Darn. 700

A good V780 bites the dust. I wonder how many of us V6 cars are left? It keeps getting harder and harder to keep old friends. Dumb pontiacs.

Probably ruined the front spoiler too!

I'd say it ruined it, but it's been missing since I got the car. I just got back from Denver today (left the night of the accident) so I'll find out more from the insurance company as to whether they want to fix it or total it........

I second that!

I have a pal in Oregon who drives a 1987 Grand Prix. I have tried unsuccessfully to get him to buy an old Volvo or two...
