92 740 NO Fuel Pump sound 700 1992

I've checked my fuel relay (2 clicks, 1 when key turned 1/2 way, the other at start position). I'm not hearing any sound from pump in tank. I'm going to remove pump to inspect. Could there be any other electrical explanation for engine not firing? Could there be another reason pump isn't pumping other than the pump itself?

There is plenty to check before tearing things apart.

Just for a start, the fuel pump relay clicking is not a sign that it is working OK.

You need to establish that the power is getting into and out of the relay main contacts and reaching the pump, which also needs a good ground.

The best way to check it out is to get a wiring diagram and a test lamp or meter and diagnose the problem before you pull things apart or start changing parts.
