Trunk Lids 200

Does a trunk from a 1981 240 fit a 1986 240? Thanks for your advice!

Yes, physically the two will interchange. The 86+ has a different trunk lock on the outside, and the hole in the lid is different- a big rectangle instead of the 81's lock cylinder. You won't be able to have matching door locks unles you also grab the door cylinders from the 86+ donor car.

The power lock will still work, and you'll need it to lock and unlock the trunk unless you use the new trunk lock.

In any case, the trunk bolts to the same hinges with the same bolts so you're all set there.
