What a wreck! Absolute pile of junk. There's no dust cap on the spare wheel valve fer crying out loud! Imagine the repair nightmares. Sheesh.

Kidding of course. That is a real gem.

And the slot head screwdriver is msiing from the toolkit, too! That means The Volvo is a better car as it has a complete toolkit...

But what a super car it is. Hopefully it will go to a true brickhead :)

Cool digital exterior temp gauge - don't think I've seen one of those in the States. Was that an option on 700-series cars?

It is a very cool looking thing. I have never actually seen an ambient temperature guage like it, although I think it's a genuine Volvo accessory; One I'd like to have :)

Interesting to see such a pristine example. From the dashboard photo, it looks like the car does not have air conditioning. How common is that in England? Also on the dashboard there is an antenna mast control switch as well as the rear defogger switch but I don't recognize the switch beside it, any ideas?

Some UK market 740 GLEs had aircon, but some didn't as it was an extra cost option; Indeed, aircon was an optional extra in the 1980s on many luxury cars which many new buyers didn't choose as they thought it wasn't neccessary/was too costly. Now, even the smallest, cheapest new cars have aircon as standard...

I think that the extra switch might be for some kind of self-levelling rear suspension set up (Volvo accessory?)- The symbol on it looks like a shock absorber. Any ideas?

I also think that the next owner of this particular 700 will be getting a cracking car! :)
