Hi People,

Did something really stupid this morning. Driving kids to school. Stopped car by moving from drive 20mph (ish) to park! Every thing seems ok! Is there some form of synchronisation to stop damage to transmission!

Comments please on likely damage.

Does the tranny still lock in Park? Can you still put it into and out of Park easily? If so, you have been lucky and all is probably ok. There is a "locking "pawl" in the transmission which is engaged by putting the selector into Park. Putting the tranny into Park while moving really stresses this pawl and can break it or jam it. BTDT.
