Guide Pin Installation Question on 700/900 Caliper Bridges

The guide pins are not perfectly round. Must they be installed a certain way? In other words, do they go in only one way or do they go in either way and then have to be turned and locked down with the bolt?

Do the bridges simply wear out over time? Do the guide pins simply wear out over time?

Thanks,

Philip Bradley

Guide Pin Installation Question on 700/900 Caliper Bridges 700 1987

In my experience with Girling 700 series brakes, the caliper guide pins are round and a fairly precise fit. What do you mean by "bridges"? Do you mean the caliper holding brackets? I remember that your 700 series cars have the Big brakes. If you need some good used parts, let me know. I have a set of caliper holding brackets for the Girling Big Brakes that I can ship you. Or, I can set you up with a Jumbo brake conversion. The Jumbos use a different caliper holding pin than the Big brakes.

I have not experienced worn out guide pins or caliper holding brackets.
