I ordered a few green manuals, and got the wrong manual. So I have this manual for reconditioning the B6244, B6254, and B6304 engines.

The most useful information, of course, is usually not the text. But I thought this might be useful for anyone attempting their own 960 maintenance:

960 Bolts to be tightened with HYDRAULIC THREAD SEAL COMPOUND 900

Hermetically sealed bolts are used where a perfect seal is required. Replace bolts once undone or seal with new sealing compound. HYDRAULIC THREAD SEALING COMPOUND part number is 11 61 056-5; follow instructions on pack. This service bulletin includes a list and illustrations of hermetically sealed bolts on the B6304 engine.

960 Bolts to be tightened with HYDRAULIC THREAD SEAL COMPOUND 900

Hey Alex, I don't see the flywheel bolts. They all need sealer after a rear main seal has been done or oil could leak from the bolt hole threads. Thanks for the info. Pauli

That sounds like a good idea, one for the archives and FAQ even. The manual makes no reference to thread sealant on the flywheel bolts.
