Mornin,

I was suprised by an odd crack earliar this morning when I was changing my spark plugs.

The metal arm on top (attached) of the engine mount (rubber thing) on the passenger side had literally split/cracked. I'm suprised that metal that thick can just split.

Please tell me its a part that can be easily unscrewed and replaced... if not pls tell me the hard facts... Its somewhat covered, so i don't know what its attached to.

Hi vv96096. I have seen this problem three times in 2, 92, 960's and a 94, 960. I got the part in the junk yard, it is held on by 4, 12mm head bolts. If your close I have an extra. Pauli

Very odd indeed. But you're in luck. The motor mount on the passenger's side is a piece of cake to R&R (4 bolts IIRC). Check the FAQ's, I did this job about 4 years ago and detailed it pretty well in the FAQ's. IF you can't find it there, let me know and I'll dig up my original copy.

I think i might have found it... I'll probably ask a volvo mechanic i know to help me out... it might be better for a professional to do it than me... dealer says part is 70 dollars... i hope labor won't be too much since it seems like an easy job.

p.s. so far i like the new NGK plugs... i ordered copper ones, but the ones that i got were not the yellowish copper i would have expected (pic had copper color)...
