Has anyone made any custom A/C hoses for the 240 series? I am looking to make a custom Suction and Discharge hose.

I already have the crimping tool but I need the correct hose and fitting sizes.

suction hose is size 10, discharge is size 8 and liquid line would be size 6. I assume you have a bead-lock crimper? Most auto-parts stores list a/c service parts, however you might have some difficulty buying short lengths of hose. Maybe you should buy the hose at a local AC service shop, make sure it is barrier type hose suitable for R134 service.

I found a guy on the East side that makes up the hoses and he has all of the fittings hose, clamps etc. that you would need.

He made up the hose that goes from the comp. to the condenser and the one from the receiver drier to the expansion valve for me for about $70. total.

Find a local distributor of Parker Hydraulics in the yellow pages under hydraulics. They make hose and fittings for everything from fuel and oil to A/C. Simply tell the distributor what you want. It will help if you can bring in and existing part. Typically, on the spot assembly is included in the price of the parts. I bought a power steering hose for $35 compared to cheapest auto parts store, $75, and it was made with name brand parts.

Where did you get the tool?I was thinking about having my low side hose fitted in the middle with a fill valve. Local radiator shop quoted me $30.Maybe you should try local shop.Good luck,

You can get AC hose crimp tools from a number of vendors listed on the www.aircondition.com site, but be ready to plop down a couple of hundread dollars.
If you aren't going to do a bunch of them, it's cheaper to have them made up.
