240 'Late Model' to 70's round lamp conversion - Kane Where are You ? 200 1987

I'm getting sick of looking at the generic (Ford Escort Style) plastic headlamps on my 87. They are getting hazy anyway. I saw a post a few months back about convering the nose to the round headlamps for a retro-70's look. I think Kane was attempting this. Did it turn out? Has anyone else done this. Any photos?. I can tell there will be a space between the grill and lamp which I will have to fabricate a filler panel for. Does anyone have an extra set of lamp buckets, brackets and bezels they want to sell or trade for 81+up 240 & 740 parts?
Ben

I'm right here! :) 200 1987

Here's the write up ...

A pic of how it (still) currently looks ...

Such done, and at least with much superior lighting, I would eventually like to fabricate some sheet metal covers. There is a "homemade" look to it with the acrylic box frames.

-- Kane ... not that we have that much of an affordable alternative anyways for round lights (yet?). The Volvo 7" truck adapters run over $200/ea.

Consider getting the correct Euro set (H4/glass) instead.

"correct Euro set (H4/glass)". Is their an easy way to find Euro headlights for the 240?

I would write Bram Smits (he's coming over soon) or Rene Van den Bergh to see what they can do, Any Euro-contact can get them. I have them fitted to my 4 240's and I have a few spares.

Not familiar with these two gentleman and relatively new to the board. How would I go about getting in contact with them. Are your spares available? Thanks

J.C. Whitney's sells the halogen 7" round lamps without the bulbs for $39 a pair. The H4 & 9003 bulbs (Which I already have) will fit into it. I prefer the older look on the 240s. The flat plastic ones remind me too much of that ugly Tempo I used to own. Plus I could pass it off as a late 70's model to the average onlooker.
