The back seat/deck release mechanism on our wagon is destroyed (in pieces). How do we release the seat back so we can replace the broken mechanism. It really seems jammed.

Easy. Pull out all the parts to the catch, then you should be able to feel through the hole for the cables that run to the seat edges. They are quite rigid and out to be within easy reach for nimble fingers.
