242 Pop out rear side window alignment 200

Does anyone have the problem of sagging rear side windows on a 242? The bottom edge of mine are dragging on the paint and causing rust. Both sides are the same. I cannot find any loose or excessively warn parts. It seems as if the latches are mounted too low on the rear window pillar.

No alignment problems at all on a 1980 242, with all original parts. Mounting of the inges and latch is rather straightforward. Had anybody ever replaced them and possibly not put the latch mechnism back in the right place ? Do the windows close correctly and only sag when opened ?

Windows are away from body when open so sag does not mater. When they are closed, they contact the body along the bottom edge. I tried shimming the hinges, which are just curved tabs, but could not make enough change. The latches are installed by sheet metal screws into the pillar, no means of adjustment provided. I am aware that it is not a common problem. Was some kind of locating template used on the assembly line?
