Ignition problem 700 1989

Hello!
My wife was driving our 740 turbo and she notice the car was allmost out of gas.
Then the next second the engine stoped. She got to the gas station on time she told me. She put some gas but the car did not start since. I tested the fuel lines fuel pump. There are working OK. BUT no spark. The distributor was repaired mey be two years ago. So I`m suspecting it may be tha case again. The ignition ciol tested ok in my sisters 740 S. wagon . Do you think it may be the electrinic ignition chip , or the distributor again? This message is not only to ask for help.
Also it may help somebody to troubleshoot any electrical problems.
I hope we can help each other guys. Thakn`s.

No spark is ignition, if you have no spark from the coil, you'll most likely want to check the hall effect sensor (in distributor) or replace pick-up at flywheel. I can't remember which the 89 has. Make sure you have power to the coil also. Good luck.

Mike
