disc conversion question 444-544

I'm nearly finished with a drum to disc conversion on my Duett but have run into a few late snags.

The bleeding nipples I puschased from VP don't come close to fitting the Girling (I think) single cicuit calipers. There are two openings, both on the inboard sides of the calipers, identical in size and thread. I assume one is for the brake line, one for the bleeder. One is oriented directly upward, one faces into the center of the car. Then inside facing one is actually higher on the caliper than the up facing one.

Can anyone tell me which is which, and point to a source for bleeders that fit?

Also, anyone have a source that can make up brake lines to order to fit these systems? The stock numbers don't do the job real well...

Many thanks,
longhorizon

    disc conversion question 444-544

Any reputable brake shop should be able to make you up some nice brake lines. I jury-rigged mine when I did the conversion so I could drive it to the brake shop just down the road, then had them make up some new lines. Besides, with single-circuit systems it's probably best to have someone double-check your work, as a bad brake line means zero brakes....

All the calipers are Girling, all the calipers are single circuit.
The opening to the inside is, as you surmise, for the bleeder; IIRC the thread is 3/8-24.
The openings are definitely NOT the same.
