Any one have any problems with the platic guides in the sunroof breaking? Mine did on the passenger side, the roof still work but it makes some bad noises when it passes over the area where the section of plastic is missing. It only makes the noises when it tilts as that what side came out.

i removed all plastic, there is a metal guides under. broken plastic was jamming tracks. now it works just fine(for the last 2 years)

I don't know anyone that has an S/V90 that hasn't had the problem at least once. Maybe there is someone out there that hasn't had any problems with them. Ours have broken 3 times, replaced twice by the dealer under warranty. This last time I just left them and it still works fine. Last time the dealer replaced them they were supposedly of the newer 'stronger' design. I guess not.

The guides on our 95 960 have been working just fine. Maybe I should buy the older guides for the 95 and install them on our 98.

My S90 sunroof was repaired twice by the local dealer and failed again shortly after. Took it to an independent to get it fixed properly. The plastic parts are prone to warping. I don't know if I would use your sunroof in its present condition.

my approach to sunroofs is, if it's closed and does not leak, leave it closed. there are four other windows. a leaky sunroof is death to your headliner, and though it was satisfying to replace it on my '86 760, it was a lot of f***ing around.

Yeah, you're probably right but when you pay through the nose for a car you'd like to have everything work. Mine never leaked, just didn't work properly. The car's history anyway.
