New to the 1800 club 1800

I just got a pretty nice 1967 1800s. Bought in Chicago and drove to Seattle in 2 days. Car handled the trip beautifully, especially considering it hadn't been driven much for almost two years.

Just wanted to say hi and say I now understand how easy it is to appreciate these cars.

Welcome and congrats! 1800s really do grow on you, and they get better for being driven regularly.

I'm on the southern part of Whidbey Island, if you ever get up this way and need some help with it.

Thanks, I may take you up on it. I am very unfamiliar with these cars as of yet. I wanted one since I was 12 and now that I finally have it, I'm quite pleased. The secondaries on the Weber carb I have are sooty from the drive and the carb is seemingly untuned. I am waiting to tune it, however, since the guy I bought the car from is sending a set of side drafts, a S71 cam, and valve guide seals, along with some other stuff. No point doing the work twice, right? Anyway, my e-mail is swirlsound@hotmail.com. I'm going to try to meet a few folks in the area who share the thrill of these cars. Is there a local club or anything?

Gregory

how was your oil consumption and mileage during the trip? 1800 1973

i bought my es in oregon a year ago and drove it back to long island, new york.
they certianly seem to be bullet proof, mechanically. i don't seem to consume any oil during local driving but consumption does go up during sustained highway driving.
