I've been entertaining the thought of adding a coolant filter to keep the crud out of the block. Just installed a new radiator and plan on changing coolant every 2 years but would be nice to have something to make shure it stays clean. Some vehicles come standard with this.

Anyone done this.

    I've put one on on an old (1985) Ford truck last year and after 6 months, the screen was clear, no particles whatsoever. When I replaced the hoses I didn't reinstall the filter.

    I would expect it would be a waste of time on thw Volvo as well.
