interior light problems 900 1995

Hi all! I recently purchased a '95 960 sedan and have a few questions about 3 interior lights.

The lights for the different modes (W, S, E) do not light up. I think they are supposed to be orange? Is it 1 bulb or 3? How do I get to them?

The interior lights for the center console and rear ashtray used to work when I purchased the car. About a week ago they both stopped working. Any idea what would have caused this? It seems unlikely to me that both bulbs would die at the same time.

Thank you for your help!

Check your fuses. Had a similar experience with my 940. Was advised by a fellow Brickboarder to check my fuses. I did, one was out. I replaced it and problem fixed.

Thanks for the tip - I checked all three fuse boxes and checked every fuse. They all look good to me. Any other ideas?

I got the lights fixed! I ended up removing the center console and taking the WSE unit out. I opened it up and cleaned all the dust and debris out - then sealed it up and it works like new. Even the letters themselves light up. I didn't realize that *all* the lights were not functioning before.

As for the glovebox / rear ash tray light - it had fallen out of the metal clip that holds it in place and (I assume) the bulb had blown. I replaced it and now it works great.

I hope that helps anyone that's having a similar problem. I have some pics of the inside of the WSE unit if anyone wants/needs them.
