What Engine My Volvo has??? 200 1986

Just Bought a Volvo 240GL 1986 Imported from England, it is a right side driver.
Very cool, On the timing belt cover there is B230A label. I assume this is the engine serie? All info that I find for a 1986 and up is B21 B23 B230F ect.
Whar this all mean. What do I have, How many HP etc. Can not find a service manual or any information.
I would appreciate any feedback.
Thank you

Congratulations with your car! Are you in the US? You are in for some very interesting overtaking manouvres, controlling the car from the passenger seat!

Anyway, the B230A is as you may have noticed a carburetted engine. Most likely it has got the CDU Pierburs 175 CDUS carb. You can identify it by looking at the pics on this page, where you will also see how the CO adjustment is done. (You will need an 8 mm socket.) http://www.svenskavolvo240klubben.se/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3796

In Scandinavia, 1986 was the last year of the B230A, next year it was replaced by the interference-design B230K. Yours is a non-interference. It has a compression ratio of 10,3:1, and 110 HP.

    Erling, Norway.
