useful parts to strip from a 740 wagon? 700

My 87 740 GLE wagon just got too unstable after 207,000 miles (well, not too bad)--suspension work, ugly transmission, pinion seals, etc. So I bought a '90 turbo wagon. can anyone think of parts I would be a fool not to grab off the old brick before I donate it?

Or alternatively, anyone in the Boston area looking for a parts car?

Is the speedometer(or the whole instrument panel) working? If so, I am interested in it. My email is zyfengzy@yahoo.com. Thanks.

How are the tail lights? Are they glossy/shiny still? If so I would be interested in them.

Not sure what year the headlights changed but if they are the ones with the integrated fog lights I would be interested in the left one...

If you can send pictures of these items that would be great: dgl6192 at yahoo dot com.

Thanks,
Bean

The one thing I'd take if I were you would be the mechanism for the sunroof: If it's power, save the switch, and the motor. If it's manual, save the crank.

Is it a manual tanny or automatic?

It's somewhat funny, but neither (87 GLE or 90 turbo) sunroof work--yet. The old one is crank op'd and one of the screws is pretty well frozen. haven't gotten into the new one yet, but it's powered...

the transmission is automatic, and though rough, hasn't gotten rougher over the last 12,000 miles. That reminds me, I should grab the overdrive relay--it's new, and I've seen them wear out in a few 740s over the years--thanks.

Nick

Fuel Injection Weirdness????? 700

I need a chrome (aluminum) strip for an 87 740 wagon -- the one that goes on top of the passenger side rear fender, i.e., just below the rear side window. I live in Albany NY but I'll be in Boston on 922, headed for Logan airport and again on 9/29, returning from the airport. I'd like to buy the strip from you if possible. email is ginaune@yahoo.com. thanks jim dunne
