B20 head on B18 block... BAD? 120-130

In looking over a 122 I'm considering buying, I discovered that it has a B20 head on a B18 block. I cannot ascertain from the book of work receipts that came with it however if it was bored out to take B20 pistons or not. My feeling is it has not. If this engine has been running like this for a while, could this have caused potential damage in some way?

On another line of thought, how could I discover if it has been bored, short of pulling off the head?

Damage merely from putting on a B20 head essentially impossible as the CR will be lower than stock and no clearance issues, etc.
If the performance is OK don't worry.
Look in the spark plug hole with a light on a stalk that you can put in the CC.
You should be able to see if the bore on the sides ( front and rear ) matches up with the edges of the combustion chamber.

If the price is right and the car in good shape, I wouldn't let the B20 head keep me from buying it. If, after taking the head off, you find that the pistons are within B18 dimensions, you can always put on a B18 head, which you should be able to pick up, probably, for just the price of shipping.

Probably not something that would cause any damage, but would definitely cause poor performance and economy.

I can't think of a way to tell if the block was bored short of taking the head off and measuring, sorry.

If you wanted to know if it had been bored, maybe there is some sort of fluid displacement test you could do through the spark plug hole ??????
