No Horn 700

I have a problem with my '88 740 horn. It won't sound unless I push upward on the sterring wheel. Not hard to do when stopped but a little tricky when you're driving. There's power to both horn buttons and they both work fine. I think the common ground connection to the column is loose or worn out. Does anyone know where it's connected our could it be another problem?

Take the cover off the steering column. Disconnect the battery or fuse for the air bag first. Then check for loose wires, bad contacts.

Thanks for the info. I took the steering column top cover off and found a small spring loaded pin that makes contact with a circular copper ring attached to the column frame. The pin was making contact with the ring but was not making contact with the steering wheel metal frame. I moved the pin around a little and squirted some electrical contact cleaner into the recessed hole containing the pin and the spring. I now have a horn!!!
