hello
on my 84 242 ti i found some fresh oil on the intake manifold after a 4 hour drive. recently i have had a increased idle and the car has been running a bit lean. sometimes when cold if it hasn't been driven in a whie it idles fine but after boosting it will idle at 1500 instead of 1000 rpm.

where do you think this leak is? is there a gasket that has gone bad or do things just need to be retightened, cleaned and sealed

Have you checked your flame trap? I suspect it's clogged.
I would remove the throttle body (three 12 or 13 mm nuts on the underside of the intake manifold and inspect that intake manifold. Clean the throttle body and use a new gasket (from the looks of your leak, I think the throttle body-intake manifold interface is leaking. The bigger question is why is there a leak there? It's less likely that your valve cover is loose and oil is splashing the throttle body; however, it would take you a couple of minutes with a 10 mm wrench to tighten the valve cover nuts.

turbos dont have a flame trap its empty there.
if i remove the throttle body will i have to deal with reseting the idle and what not?
