Will a 100 Amp alternator from a turbo fit in 740gl(non turbo) with 80 amp alternator? 700 1990

i read somewhere that it fits.But is it direct fit?

    I did the same swap in out '88 745 GLE and found no differences in the alternators (I put in one from a '90) except for the tag.

    BE CAREFUL - the bolt in the adjustor is soft and expensive. In fact, two of our 740s had a plain bolt in it's place when we bought them. ALL the other bolts must be loose AND free if you adjust with this bolt.
