Please help; idiots bungled stereo install 200

Friday night I took my brick to an independent stereo place to have the aftermarket head unit moved to the upper slot. (The prev. owner had it in the lower slot, almost out of my reach and in the way of the shifter. In the top spot was that gray-lined plastic dash pocket.) I thought it was obvious that I wanted the pocket in the bottom slot; it's useful for stowing misc. stuff. But they fabricated a plastic panel to put there and said the old pocket was used for this. (I wonder about this; the plastic on the pocket was a different texture and thickness.)

On top of this, they put the storage "ledge" (just above the a/c controls) in backward! I didn't notice at the time. (It was dark.)

I'm going to take my car back tonight and demand they fix this and maybe ask for a refund.

Does anyone know if the upper dash pocket would have fit in the lower slot? (The lower slot appears larger.) And can replacement lower pockets be bought?

I'm really ticked they did such an amatuerish job and didn't ask my permission to cut/paint parts of the dash.

Thanks for any help!

You will need the frame and bin out of an 86-on. In '91 though the bin is smaller to accomodate the amplifier tucked in there. Looks like a trip to the pick and pull, where you can learn how the bin and frame are extracted. Your initial plan to transfer the bin would not work.

Thanks a lot. I'll see if I can find a bin. 200

when it's happened to me i change the wires, dist cap and rotor. you can see the carbon buildup under cap allowing electrical charges to go all over the place instead of only to whichever point should be making contact. this really throws things off so much that it cant start - moisture seems to make this worse that's why it starts when wet weather clears out and humidity drops.
