I would like to use synthetic. Is that a good idea? If so which brand? I will be changing it this weekend. Thanks, Paul

Synthetic is always a good idea, unless you have a leak. It's kind of costy to be pouring on the ground.
Big Amsoil fan here.

An added plus of the Amsoil is it is good for three times the manufacturers recommendation. That works out to 60,000 miles for our volvos.

I don't believe Mobil makes any extended claims.

I have heard alot about it. Where do I get it? Also, do I need to do a complete flush or can I mix? Probably complete flush, right? How mucho per quarto? Thanks, y'all. Paul

I buy it on their website...the 960 trans takes a lot of juice...I buy the 2.5 gallon jug of universal ATF for around $80.00 and replace it every 100k miles.

I have had excellent results with the Havoline ATF. Since I dump my tranny fluid at 20000 miles I have not been inclined to use the the Mobil 1, even thought it is great stuff. I have not had any problems with the Havoline 'burning' or turning brown like some of the others, and both the 940 and 240 seem to have a much better shift 'feel' using it.
