Can anyone suggest a cure?
Despite some efforts I cannot get the idle to smooth out on my 93 960, especially in comparison to my 97 960.
So far I have replaced the intake manifold, O2 sensor, sparkplugs, fuel pressure regulator and check valve.
I have also cleaned the idle motor, throttle body and Air Mass Sensor.
What's left?
This problem only occurs at idle when it seems that the engine is "missing".
All is well during driving.

Dear Dan,

Good p.m. and may this find you well. When the car is idling, does the tachometer needle fluctuate? If so, this suggests that while the idle air controle valve has been cleaned, that may not be enough to cure the rough idle. The IACV may simply be failing. How many miles or kilometers on the car?

What codes, if any, are to be read from the On Board Diagnostics?

There are 135k miles on the clock.
No codes are showing.
I may have to bite the bullet and get an IAC. They are $250 new but I will try one from a breakers yard.
