Mobil ATF question 900

I know brake fluid that is opened will pick up water over time. I dont believe this is the case for Mobil 1 ATF. I replace every couple months fluid in the PS reservoir and wondered if there is a problem using a container of Mobil 1 ATF that was opened about 6 months ago and recapped and kept capped. Thanks JOHN
