Does anyone know the US spec. part number for the 1983 Groupe A 242Ti Grille? I know it can be ordered but the Volvo dealers in my area are not sympathetic and can't be bothered to get the book or God forbid the Fiche out.

My fiche says 1246618. That is also the number molded on my grille. I have an 82 (Dec.) price book giving $132.65 as retail. I don't drive it at night during "deer season" for just that reason.

$132.65 is a lot, but that's not too much more than the rest of the 240 grilles cost. The later style chrome and black grille will run around $105, and the much rarer all-black from 1992 or so is about $135, nearly the same price as that flathood grille.

Still, I can't blame you at all for being judicious in your driving of a Group-A Flathood.

$132.65 was the price 22 years ago. I'd be surprised if you could still get it for that from a dealer.
