I have 92 960 that sometimes will not start. The PNP switch has been replaced
and when the car won't start, I can wiggle the shift lever and it still does not start. Sometimes it starts just fine. I have hooked up a hot wire to the starter solenoid with a switch inside the car and it will always start with this switch even when it will not start with the key. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I had this exact same problem. It makes a clicking sound when you go to turn it over right? If so, clean all of the posts on the starter and cut off the ends on the wires and replace them. That should do the trick. *also you might want to put some of the electric connection gress stuff on the wires*
