if just under 8000 p1800es's were manufactured in '72 and '73... 1800 1973

... anybody have any idea how many might still be around and driveable?...
...
b.t.w., i'm driving up to sandwich, mass tomorrow from eastern long island (taking the ferry to new london) and don thibault (www.p1800.com) will be insalling new front seats. i'm looking foward to being able to see over the steering wheel! the current seats are original and REALLY tired.

so far I've seen one at a Volvo garage in Oklahoma City. Had a good look, its gold in color, fully restored. Guy want an arm and a leg for it though, which is why its been there for the past 4 months.

I don't know if there is a registrar out there.. perhaps check Volvo Sports America... they might have an idea.

But being rather rust prone, and the fact that they are all ~32 years old, I would think less than a third of them would be left. Just a guess though.

Also note... it ain't 'p1800es'.. it is just '1800es'. The 'p' designation was only used on the earliest cars built by Jensen. Thereafter, they dropped the 'p', and added an 's', 'e', or 'es' But never did an 1800 have letters at both ends.

Oddly enough, as I type this, one of the nicest 1800es cars I've ever seen just drove by my window.

Look up Volvo 1800 Club of Sweden and there is a link for an 1800ES registry. They will want a picture of your car, too.
