my temp guage is not working in my 87 240. Tested the wire and i have continuity from the sensor to the guage, tried a different guage and still nothing. could a bad temp sensor cuase the guage to do nothing. also no spike in guage if i ground the wire. puzzled.

Was the wiring insulation changed and improved by 1987? If not, you could be getting a short. I just finished cutting out a bunch of decomposing wire from my 82.

I did the temp compensation bypass today. guage is working fine now thanks..on to bigger and more frustrating electrical demons...
