You can either use a repair kit or replace the panel with a volvo part. The kit allows you to repair it without removing the panel. The volvo part will require you to remove the panel.

The pocket comes off easily if you first remove the door panel and look at the back but can just as easily be repaired with super glue and improved by gluing in a thin strip of wood inside the upper inside edge.

I repaired mine by gluing a flexible plastic piece behind the breaks for reinforcement. On top of that I made a piece of wood strip that run the full lenght of the pocket on both side. Then linking them with cutoff chrome waterline pipe for look. This prevent the pocket from being push in by either the driver or the psgr using leg to hold the door open. That how mine was broken by the mother-inlaw and the wife.
