Hello,

my friend has a 1989 volvo 740GL

the brake lights do not work

can anyone please tell me where the
"bulb out relay" is?

As the name implies, the relay tells when a bulb is out. To do this the light circuits run through the relay on the printed circuit board. When the solder on th board gets old and cracks the circuit to the lights is broken.

If you or your friend are handy with a soldering iron the relay cab be repaired. See FAQ.

The bulb failure relay is in the fuse relay block. From the diagram it appear to be the only round relay also it is in position 115 on the corner of the block.
