Question about AW70 Transmission.... 200 1990

Hi all,
~2500 miles ago, I flushed the ATF. Ever since then, after running around town or the highway, there is almost a slight hesitation shifting from 2nd to 3rd. All others gears are normal. If I gun her, she shifts fine. When trans is cold, no probs with the shift. The ATF level is perfectly fine. This problem arose after the ATF flush. What could be wrong here?

Also, the kickdown cable is fine.

Other than, not other issue with her.....now has 201530 miles on it!

TIA!
Raj

Question about AW70 Transmission.... 200 1990

Your tranny may not 'like' the brand of fluid that was installed. Believe it or not, a lot of trannys are 'sensitive' to the brand of fluid used ,because of the different amount and type of friction modifiers used, even when they all meet the Dex III spec. It can change the 'feel' of the shifts. The flush could have also busted loose some trash( espeicially in higher mileage units)that has now deposited where it does not belong. You could try a drain ( not a flush) and refill with a different brand and see if that solves it.

Okey....will try another brand. 200 1990

I change the fluid every 20k miles, so I am not sure if it knocked off crap or not. will also try dropping the pan and cleaning the filter. I hate doing this! Did that on my 90 bimmer and I can still smell ATF in my hair!!!

Cheers,
Raj
