Not broken cam gear !! 140-160

Follow-up on previous tale of woe.

Stupid me.

Weber DGV idle mixture screw was about to fall out of carb! Had to turn 'er in about 6 turns. Was running way rich - plugs were fouled causing misfire. Screwed 'er in and runs much better. Still a bit of coughing and misfire. Gonna do a thorough tune-up and see if this doesn't get 'er back to normal.

Later,
Al

You will need to take the carb body and have a thread insert put into the mixture screw location. This is really common on the 32/36 DGV carb that is used on Volvo conversions. I've scrapped a Weber for this before, because the carb body threads get mashed up with the spring loaded mixture screw and allow too much air past the threads to get a decent idle adjust. The body is very soft alum. alloy. You can use some thick silicone grease on the threads to seal them up if it's nopt too bad, but if it backed out, it's probably beyond recovery withour surgery.
