Power Steering Fluid loss 900 1996

Greetings:

Once again a question on my daughter's 1996 960. The vehicle has developed a strong thirst for power steering fluid (having to top it off approximately every 2,000 miles). I have not had a chance to get under the car (hope to this weekend) but do not notice a continual leak under the car (very sporadically I will notice a small puddle).

Is anyone aware of any common place I should look to see if the hoses are leaking? Is this indicative of major problems upcoming?

As always, I appreciate the input.

Thanks - Ted in Albuquerque

Hello Ted; A lot of ps system leaks will not show themselves until the system is under max pressure. While the engine is running and someone is turning the wheel full left then right, look ( SAFELY!) in and around the ps lines, tank, pump and rack and you my find the culprit.
