I have a 1986 240 DL Sedan and my rear defroster will not work. It will turn stay on from anywhere between 1 minute to 1 sec and I was just wondering if it is the switch that is bad or the realay. When I push it on I can hear the realy click. Any suggestions?

The relay controls the "on" time, which should be in the range of 5-10 minutes. Since other Volvo relays are known to develop cracks in the solder joints, you might try re-soldering it, but it's more likely a solid-state component which has failed. Look for a replacement in a boneyard, if possible.
