Farewell to the 960 900

Hello Fellow Bricksters,

A few days ago, the ins. company totalled my 96 960. It was a great car until I hit a patch of black ice and a rock folded the passenger rear tire under the car, thus snapping every conceivable suspension component under the car. The only body damage was to the back door with a little dent and a few scratches. Luckily, no one in the car was hurt in the least bit of course, and thanks to Volvo for the 2nd time for that.

I have now taken ownership of a 2003 Subaru Impreza, but it just doesnt ride or handle the same, but the fact of having a reliable AWD system is superior to that.

So no more crazy, off-the-wall questions about the 960 from me!

Take care everyone,

Matt C

If the spring isn't broken and the chassis isn't tweaked..... you can buy the car back and replace the broken suspension parts on that side. You could get parts from a wrecking yard and replace the bushings. Wouldn't be that difficult if your mechanically inclined.

Matt, out of curiousity, what part of the country do you live in? Just wondering what salvage yard to check for parts!

I'm from the US. New Hampshire specifically. The ins. co. wont tell me where the car is aside from a salvage yard in CT. I'm still trying a month later to track it down to get it back. The ins. co. took it with the plates still on it, my cd's, and a whole bunch of personal stuff which I know is probably history. But its kinda shady what the ins. co. did.
