TB overhaul? S90-V90

Car approaches 10 years of age and 85K miles. TB changed by dealer at 60K. Soon after that they changed one TB pulley (tensioner or idler?) that was noisy. Drive belt tensioner and idler pulleys are noisy now. So is A/C compressor pulley. Should I change pulleys as neeeded, or put in new TB and drive belt tensioners as well, together with a new or remanufactured A/C compressor? I do not want to contemplate even the possibility of TB (or AT) failure in this car, particularly away from mainland US.

    At 122K miles more than one of my idlers, TB or drive was noisy but it was difficult to tell if it was one in the TB path of the drive belt. I now have replaced them all within the last 6 months and wish I had just replaced them all when the first one got noisy.

    Bottom line, if you can afford it, make sure they are all in good shape.

      How about TB and drive belt tensioners, replace them both too?

        These are not very expensive, at least compared to the enormous fiscal damage that their failure will cause. I would just bite the bullet and spend the money on peace of mind. Some things you don't want to worry about.

          concur. Open it up once and do it all. Replace the water pump as well. If it breaks after that, its not like you didnt try.

          BTW, A/C compressor is noisy too. Since it is the factory compressor (10 years old and over 84K miles of continous use on high in PR), I thought I would change it too while I am in the neighborhood. I can get OEM Sanden SD7H15 in the car now, new for $350 or remanufactured for $222. Any recommedation?

            Only 84K miles!!!
            I should feel very lucky to have had my AC compressor last 312K miles before it started to leak.

            For about $185?

            This place has great prices and service.

              Hello Robert:
              Why Sanden 709? OEM is Sanden SD7H15 (with six groove pulley, if I remember right), $350 new or $222 remanufactured.

                Do some checking, you should be able to get that 709 with the serpentine pully . All of the t960/s90 cars around here the 709 is what's in it, I believe the other number is just the code for the volvo one.
                I put a 709 in my 240 wagon and that thing will freeze me out.

                  Thank you. I looked into nostalgicairparts after your first post and found the Sanden 709 for $185. Tomorrow I will telephone or email them.
