Performance cam questions 700 1988

I'd like to hear for anyone who has installed a performance cam and or adjustable cam gear in a Turbo car. I'd like to know about idle quality, I know some engines don't idle as smoothly with a higher lift cam.
thanks

Performance cam questions 700 1988

It's not the lift that makes the idle lumpy, it's the overlap.
I've got a VX cam advanced 6 degrees in my 740T; it idles fine(the VX has very little overlap) and passes California Smog II no sweat.
I'd say it's got nearly 1000 more useful RPM on top with no noticeable decrease in low end.
I haven't tried a real performance cam (Enem V15 or ipd Turbo), but I might.
