There are two "twist-in" halogen lite bulbs in the top portion of the speedometer/gas gauge assembly. If you've ever taken one out and examined it, you'll notice that it's awful tempting to try and remove a blown halogen bulb and re-using the plastic "twist-in" base after you've inserted another replacement bulb. Why? Because the stealership wants $15 a piece and the local parts stores have a halogen bulb that has the little prongs sticking out. Looks VERY similar.

Someone kindly helped me out when I repaced my heater blower and couldn't get those lights to work by pointing out to me how fragile they are. They were both dead. My local garage kindly gave me two used ones for free that tested good off of a battery in the shop but by the time I installed them only one worked. And then I finally figured out that the kind folks at fcp.groton.com sell them for around four bucks each!

Spring for the new bulbs. Or get them from the junkyard. Problem is, the ealier bulbs weren't halogen, like the ones you have, so they're a lot dimmer. Don't forget to wipe the fingerprints off them before you install them. Good luck.

Since mine died, I use normal idiot light bulbs with their original sockets. They're not so powerful, but enough for me on 90% dimmer setting.
