blizzard story! AMAZING! 200

I live in cambridge, MA... we got 2.5 FEET of snow last night. got in late from work, the only available spot was 6 blocks away next to the courthouse, a 22 story building in the midst of little houses and apartments. wake up this morning, 6 foot drift in front of my door. I venture, out of morbid curiosity, to see how badly my 245 is buried... and I find...

NO SNOW on my car.

the severe winds and the tall building created a wind tunnel that kept every flake of snow off the street.. I almost cried.

It's OK to cry - we volvo ownersare a sensitive lot - and understand.... :)

Great to hear the brick escaped the wrath of the storm - make a mental note to park there whenever storms are forecast - except for the long walk to the parking space. Ever thought of moving...??

#1 Son went out with his digital video cam and took some footage of the storm ... he has it up on the East Coast Vintage Volvo Club website under the heading "My version of Where's Waldo" ..... If you want to see and hear what we are getting ... at -12C and winds howling go to the site and download the Real Player file ... You can see the tail end of Ole Reliable nestled in the barn and his 1978 242 buried in a drift outside ... Enjoy

Hey Brett,
I tried to find your home movie on that site, but don't see it. Is it in an area that you have to register to see?

I only wish you had sent this damn BLIZZARD out to sea permanently after it left your area .... it is now crapping all over Nova Scotia ..... Thankfully Ole Reliable is snuggled in the barn ... but #1 Son's Saturn I believe is buried down by the road ... car is white ... hope my plough guy sees it before he hits the driveway at a great rate of knots ......Some how I think he will be using his Tractor instead of his Turbo Diesel Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 with V Blade plough... Drifting is out of this world
